Cambia Health Solutions
Journi - Family Healthcare Management
The healthcare system is more complicated than ever, especially for people who are caring for themselves in addition to the rest of their family. Jouri is designed to help simplify how users interact with the healthcare system through a range of automated tools and real people who are available to answer questions and take action on their behalf. Designed with the entire family in mind users can access healthcare records for everyone on their insurance plan and share that information with others who are helping provide care.
Process
After I joined the Journi design team July 2018 our team was tasked with reworking the existing beta to be ready for market launch. Faced with a daunting amount of new features on our roadmap we reworked the underlying structure of the app to support them. We also redesigned the UI from the ground up to fit with the Journi brand and deployed a new component based design system.

Process Overview
Product Planning
Our product team had a pretty big list of requirements. Our design team worked closely with them to help make space in the app for them to fit in and also to suggest when to integrate new ideas into the app.
Testing
Our product ideas were tested with our in house UX testing team. We used low definition prototype for a lot of these but it really worked well to get alignment between product ideas and user needs.
Design
Our UX team created flows based on testing and product requirements. These were passed to me and my team to build out the UI and refine patterns
Product Overview
Problem
Users have a hard time comparing speakers at retail locations. Hearing the difference and learning what separates speakers in the SONOS lineup relies on retail employees who may might be trained to guide users effectivly.
Solution
Create a tablet based interface to operate a retail display helping customers learn about the SONOS lineup.
When a customer steps up to the display they’re greeted by an intro video. Their first action starts music coming though the display speakers. Users have the ability to select between speakers, music genres, and content types. Beyond the home screen users can compare detailed product specs. Get linked to a speaker recommendation experience or learn more about SONOS as a brand.
User Profiles
Keep track of your family’s healthcare history, doctors and medications all in one place.
Resources
Look up providers to see what care options are close by and in network. Research medications to find cheaper alternatives, side effects and drug effectiveness ratings.
Finances
Easily access financial information such as your insurance deductible, Out-of-pocket max and HSA balance.
Connect
Journi connect works to keep users in touch with time saving resources. They can chat with a care guide or nurse to ask questions or request services like getting an appointment scheduled or finding a doctor who’s in network
Profiles drawer component
For the redesign of this section of the app I created a drawer component that allows users to switch between family members easily. When not in use the user can see the family members name clearly as they move through tabs in the profile section of the app so they can stay oriented.
Additional features added with the redesign: Filters: Community, Timeline and Medications tabs

Design System
To keep our team aligned we created a robust design system that covered off on frequently used patterns. This includes navigation, card designs and documentation around requirements. I designed our icons and created an icon library for our team.
